FITT USA Groundbreaking

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 18, 2012

Mayor Thomas Broderick, Jr., Economic Development Director Greg Winkler, the City of Anderson Redevelopment Commission, and Alessandro Mezzalira, President and CEO of FITT Group, jointly announce that Italian based FITT USA, world class manufacturer of hoses for residential and commercial use, celebrated the groundbreaking of their new manufacturing facility in Anderson, Indiana on October 18, 2023.

The facility will include a state-of-the-art logistics operation, showroom and conference area for welcoming clients and partners and will include up to 6 manufacturing lines, creating more than 100 new, high-paying jobs in the Anderson community by 2028 with a total annual payroll of $4.4 million, expanding workforce opportunities as well as the City of Anderson tax base.

Upon substantial completion of the 150,000 square foot facility, the Redevelopment Commission, has committed to approve the issue of bonds in the amount of $2 million with the approval of the Anderson Common Council and subject to FITT meeting agreed upon construction goals. FITT USA also has the ability to expand another 150,000 square feet.

Mayor Broderick commented, “FITT USA will make a substantial contribution to our Anderson economy. In addition to repurposing a brownfield site that was part of the Fisher-Guide GM plant on the east side of Raible Ave., FITT USA has committed to a $20 million investment, including construction of a warehousing facility and installation of capital equipment.”

“We are happy to provide assistance for this solidly established, international corporation to set roots in Anderson. This is an opportunity to transform a vacant property into a tax generating facility that will benefit our city’s economic growth,” added Mayor Broderick. “Diversification of industry is essential in an economy that will last over time. We are excited to welcome FITT USA and to work together with their leadership to foster a relationship that will be mutually beneficial.”

Economic Development Director Greg Winkler stated, “FITT USA’s close relationship with SIRMAX in Italy and the US, and the City of Anderson leadership’s proactive overseas negotiations factored heavily into their selection of Anderson as their next new US facility.”

“We have come a long way in the expansion of our US entity, and I am excited to see this important milestone come to life. Four years ago, we started our business in the US as an importer, and we have now reached the stage in which a strategically located facility will enable us to become a market leader and offer excellent service to our customers,” stated Alessandro Mezzalira. “Our facility and organization will be built according to our values of being a Benefit Company: People and the Environment are at the center of our strategy, with sustainable processes and products as our focus, and this philosophy carries over on this brownfield project.”

David Rosenberg, Indiana Secretary of Commerce stated, “We are thrilled to welcome FITT to our community, and we are confident that the company’s presence here will have a positive impact on Anderson and the surrounding communities. This is a momentous occasion for Indiana as FITT USA joins our robust economy, advancing new career opportunities and a robust manufacturing sector that is powering the world around us.”
