City awards contract for new substation design

The City of Anderson Board of Public Works has awarded a contract for the design work to construct the second electrical power substation for the Flagship Industrial Park.

At the request of Tony Pochard, Director of Anderson Municipal Light & Power (AMLP), the Board of Public Works awarded a $385,000 contract to GRW Engineers. The new substation will be constructed near West 73rd Street and Layton Road and will provide 84 megawatts of electricity through the installation of three 38-megawatt transformers.
